هذا التّقرير هو دراسة مفصّلة لتخطيط وتقييم سلسلة قيمة البلاستيك، وهدفه الأساسي تحديد القيود والعقبات التي تمنع المشروعات مُتناهية الصّغر والصّغيرة والمتوسّطة مِن الاندماج الفعّال في سلسلة القيمة هذه على أساس مُستدام لتحقيق النّمو وزيادة الدّخل وفرص العمل. يصف هذا التّقرير وضع قطاع البلاستيك في مصر مقارنةً بالبلدان الأخرى في المنطقة ذاتها وفي مختلف أنحاء العالم مِن حيث الاستخدامات ومعدّل التحسُّن والصادرات، علاوةً على حجم قطاع البلاستيك نسبة إلى الاقتصاد المحلي. جرت أيضًا مراجعة وتلخيص الدراسات والأبحاث والإحصاءات الحديثة ذات الصّلة باستيراد البلاستيك وإنتاجه واستهلاكه وتصديره.

Summary: This report is a detailed study of the plastics value chain (VC) mapping and assessment. The main objective is to identify the constraints and obstacles preventing MSMEs from effectively integrating in this VC on a sustainable basis to grow and increase income and employment. This report describes Egypt&rsquo;s plastics sector position as compared to other global and regional countries in terms of applications, rate of improvement, and exports, in addition to the magnitude of the plastics sector in relation to the local economy. Relevant recent studies, research, and statistics related to plastics import, production, consumption, and export are reviewed and summarized.
