Position: Officer, Communications and Outreach&ndash; Political Science Department (Grant Position at <a href="https://aps.aucegypt.edu/en">Alternative Policy Solutions Project</a> / AUC Tahrir Campus) 
 
Reports to: APS Deputy Director &ndash; Political Science Department
Job Description: Strategy
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Close collaboration with A.P.S. organizational leadership (executive and research) to develop annual A.P.S. strategic objectives (e.g., key themes that will be researched, fundraising goals, etc.)</li>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Development of agenda and presentation and coordination of annual strategy meeting with A.P.S. organizational leadership.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">The development and implementation of a communications strategy for A.P.S. that builds on annual strategic organizational objectives and maintains a positive organizational brand.&nbsp;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Management of annual A.P.S. communications budget.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Setting organizational protocol (e.g., filing system)</li>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Oversight over A.P.S. communications and branding in various online and print platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and industry magazines.&nbsp;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Establishing and managing up to 10 key Tier 1 media relations (local, regional, and international)&nbsp;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Acting as organizational spokesperson and responds to members of the media in a timely manner; composes and distributes press releases as needed.&nbsp;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Direct assistance to A.P.S. executive leadership in developing presentations, speeches, and other important corporate messages.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Ensuring quality control of all information released.</li>

Driving an evidence-based communications management culture Cultivation of an environment of readiness and alertness by setting daily / weekly / bi-weekly targets and individual performance KPIs, across press, events and digital channels (e.g., pieces of coverage, thought leadership, attendance, inquiries, website traffic, engagement rates, etc.)
Implementation
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Oversight over all key vendors across all channels the development and maintenance of the corporate website including methods to deliver messages, ease of navigation, and clarity of information; ensures that all content is current and relevant.&nbsp;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Oversight of corporate communications and branding in various online and print platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and industry magazines.&nbsp;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Oversight of the development and maintenance of the corporate website including methods to deliver messages, ease of navigation, and clarity of information; ensuring all content is current and relevant.&nbsp;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Provision of guidance concerning graphics, clarity, distribution, and press releases&nbsp;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">The development and presentation of quarterly achievement / challenges report on A.P.S. communications and outreach activities</li>

Required Skills/Abilities

<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Superior ability to write in a journalistic style that is customary for corporate and external publications.&nbsp;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Excellent managerial and organizational abilities.&nbsp;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Excellent interpersonal skills.&nbsp;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Ability to coordinate efforts of various teams in order to present a coherent message.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Education and Experience
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 300;" aria-level="1">Bachelor&rsquo;s degree Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, Marketing, or related field.&nbsp;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">At least 7 years&rsquo; experience in communications administration of which at least two years in a management role.</li>
