<p dir="rtl" style="text-align: justify;">نظَّم مشروع حلول للسياسات البديلة مساء الثلاثاء 10 ديسمبر ندوة موسَّعة حول مستقبل التكنولوجيا الرقمية في مصر، حيث شارك في الندوة السيد هاني جرجس، الرئيس التنفيذي والشريك الإداري لمركز ديلويت، الذي يملك أكثر من 25 عامًا من الخبرة في مجال إدارة البيانات والتكنولوجيا في المملكة المتحدة والشرق الأوسط. وقامت بإدارة الندوة الدكتورة رباب المهدي أستاذ العلوم السياسية بالجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة ومدير مشروع حلول للسياسات البديلة.</p>
<p dir="rtl" style="text-align: justify;">أكد هاني جرجس في مستهل الندوة على أهمية مركز ديلويت للابتكار ودوره في دعم وتطوير قطاع البيانات وتوظيفه لخدمة القطاعات المختلفة في مصر، موضحًا أن المركز يسعى إلى التفاعل مع القطاع الخاص والحكومي على السواء من أجل المساهمة في مواجهة تحديات البيانات واستشراف المستقبل.</p>
<p dir="rtl" style="text-align: justify;">وبسؤاله عن السبب وراء اختيار مصر لإقامة مركز ديلويت للإبتكار، تحدث جرجس عن أن اختيار مصر جاء بعد دراسة شملت 43 دولة وأكثر من 76 معيارًا، تمحورت حول ثلاث نقاط رئيسية وهي الكفاءات والمواهب المصرية، وقرب الموقع، وانخفاض التكلفة. كما وضح جرجس أن المواهب الموجودة في مصر هي العامل الرئيسي وراء القرار، وتحدث عن إعجابه بالمهارات الفنية لخريجي الجامعات الحكومية والخاصة على السواء. وأوضح جرجس أن هناك عدة عوامل تجعل دول الخليج أكثر تقدمًا في هذا المجال من بينها الاستثمار في التنوع الاقتصادي، والتوجه الإستراتيجي بعيد المدى، فضلًا عن الاستثمار في البنية التحتية للتكنولوجيا.</p>

<p dir="rtl" style="text-align: justify;">وأكد جرجس في إجابته حول السبب وراء عدم كون مصر مركزًا للصناعات والخدمات الإلكترونية مثل دبي والهند، بأن التكنولوجيا ليست غاية بل وسيلة لتحقيق النمو والازدهار للمجتمع، وأشار إلى أن مصر لديها الموارد والإمكانات للتغلب على الصعوبات القائمة، مشيرًا إلى أن نجاح المشروعات المستقبلية يعتمد على كفاءة الموظفين ومهاراتهم. وضح جرجس أن مصر تمتلك الأساس اللازم كي تصبح مثل الهند في ريادة مجال التكنولوجيا إلا أن هناك خطوات إجرائية يجب اتخاذها في هذا الصدد، من بينها التركيز على تعليم المهارات التقنية في الجامعات المصرية، وتعزيز الاحترافية وآداب العمل، وبناء نظام تعليمي متكامل من خلال دمج المهارات التقنية والتجارية في التعليم الأساسي لخلق جيل من المهنيين القادرين على المنافسة عالميًّا.</p>
<p dir="rtl" style="text-align: justify;">وعندما طرحت الدكتورة رباب سؤالًا -من الجمهور- حول كيفية إمكان الذكاء الاصطناعي أن يساعد في تطوير القطاعات المختلفة في مصر أشار جرجس إلى أن الذكاء الاصطناعي يمتلك إمكانات هائلة لتحفيز الابتكار في مختلف القطاعات، مثل: الصحة، التعليم، والخدمات المالية. وأوضح أن أهم المهارات التي يجب التركيز عليها لدخول هذا المجال تشمل: فهم كيفية تحليل ومعالجة البيانات الضخمة باستخدام تقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي، والاحترافية والقدرة على التعاون مع فرق متنوعة حول العالم، هي عوامل حاسمة، كما نصح بمتابعة قادة هذا المجال، مثل: كوستي بيريكوس، رئيس قسم الذكاء الاصطناعي العالمي في ديلويت، والاستفادة من تجاربهم.</p>

<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">On Tuesday December 10, Alternative Policy Solutions (APS) held a webinar on the future of digital technology in Egypt. The event featured Mr. Hani Girgis, CEO and Managing Partner at Deloitte Center, who brings over 25 years of experience in data management and technology across the UK and the Middle East. The webinar was moderated by Dr. Rabab El Mahdi, Associate Professor of Political Science at the American University in Cairo and Director of APS.</p>
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">At the outset, Hani Girgis emphasized the significance of the Deloitte Innovation Center and its role in supporting and advancing the data sector to serve various industries in Egypt. He explained that the center aims to engage with both the private and public sectors to address data challenges and anticipate future developments.</p>
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">When asked why Egypt was chosen as the site for Deloitte&rsquo;s Innovation Center, Girgis revealed that the decision followed an assessment of 43 countries based on over 76 selection criteria. Three factors influenced the decision: Egyptian talent and expertise, its strategic geographic location, and cost efficiency. Girgis highlighted the pivotal role of Egypt&rsquo;s talent pool, and expressed his admiration for the technical skills of graduates from both public and private universities. He also noted several factors contributing to the Gulf countries' advancement in this field, including investment in economic diversification and technology infrastructure, as well as long-term strategic planning.</p>

<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">In response to why Egypt has not yet become a hub for technological services like Dubai or India, Girgis pointed out that technology is a means, not an end, to achieving societal growth and prosperity. He stressed that Egypt has the resources and potential to overcome existing challenges, and underlined that the success of future projects hinges on the competence and skill advancement of the workforce. Girgis explained that Egypt has the foundational elements to rival India in technology leadership but must take procedural steps that include focusing on technical skills education in Egyptian universities, fostering professionalism and work ethics, and building an integrated educational system that combines technical and business skills at the foundational level to produce globally competitive professionals.</p>
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">When Dr. Rabab posed a question from the audience on how AI could help develop various sectors in Egypt, Girgis noted AI&rsquo;s immense potential to drive innovation across fields like healthcare, education, and financial services. He highlighted the importance of understanding and processing big data using AI techniques, professionalism, and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams globally. He recommended following leaders in the AI field, such as Costi Perricos, Global GenAI Business Leader at Deloitte, to benefit from their experiences.</p>
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">Another participant inquired about the role of software exports in boosting the Egyptian economy. Girgis explained that software exports represent a significant opportunity to support Egypt's economy by leveraging local expertise for international markets, reducing the investment burden on software development, and implementing policy changes to improve market access and competitiveness.</p>
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">Girgis concluded by emphasizing the need for greater awareness and training for employees in the field of digital technology, noting that this sector holds the key to a brighter future for Egypt.</p>
