نظم مشروع حلول للسياسات البديلة بالجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة مساء الإثنين 22 يناير حفل الاستقبال السنوي، بحضور الدكتور أحمد دلال رئيس الجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة والدكتورة رباب المهدي رئيسة المشروع والأستاذ المشارك بالجامعة، وعدد من صناع القرار والوزراء الحاليين والسابقين منهم أحمد كوجك وزير المالية وعمرو موسى وزير الخارجية الأسبق ونبيل فهمي وزير الخارجية الأسبق والدكتور طارق شوقي وزير التعليم الأسبق ومستشار الجامعة الأمريكية الحالي، وأشرف العربي وزير التخطيط الأسبق وسفراء كندا وهولندا.&nbsp;&nbsp;

كما شارك في الحفل عدد من رجال الأعمال على رأسهم المهندس&nbsp;صلاح دياب، والمهندس طارق توفيق رئيس غرفة التجارة الأمريكية فضلا عن بعض المؤثرين والشخصيات العامة منهم&nbsp; الدكتور محمد أبو الغار، الدكتور ناصر لوزه ، الدكتورة أهداف سويف وصانع المحتوى أحمد الغندور "الدحيح". وشهد الحفل عرض فيديو استعرض أبرز الفعاليات والأنشطة التي قام بها مشروع حلول&nbsp; للسياسات البديلة خلال الفترة الماضية.

من جانبه قال الدكتور أحمد دلال رئيس الجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة خلال كلمته بالحفل إن مشروع حلول السياسات البديلة بالجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة يجمع بين الدقة الأكاديمية القائمة على الأدلة والنهج التشاركي، وإشراك صناع السياسات والعلماء والمجتمعات المتأثرة بتوصياته، وهو ما يضمن إعطاء الأولوية للمجموعات المحرومة.
وأضاف دلال أن مشروع حلول للسياسات البديلة يقدر المشاركة المدنية، مما يسهل الوصول للمعرفة كما تخلق الأنشطة التي يقوم بها مساحات للمحادثات المستنيرة والتي تساهم في سماع الأصوات المتنوعة خاصة أصوات المواطنين العاديين، وهذا النهج الشامل ضروري لبناء نموذج تنمية مستدام وتطلعي لمصر حيث ركزت أبحاث المشروع الأخيرة على قضايا حاسمة مثل التنمية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية، والاستدامة، والعدالة المناخية، والتوظيف، وهي مفتاح لمستقبل مصر، وتتوافق هذه مع الأولويات الاستراتيجية للجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة ومع التزامنا بالتنمية الشاملة من خلال الابتكار والتعاون.

ومن جانبها قالت الدكتورة رباب المهدي مديرة مركز حلول للسياسات البديلة والأستاذ المشارك بالجامعة إنه&nbsp;وقبل ما يقرب من ثماني سنوات، بدأنا نشاطنا&nbsp;وكان لدينا هدف واضح ومهم، وهو تقديم سياسات بديلة تسد الفجوة بين المعرفة الأكاديمية والخبرة الفنية، والأهم من ذلك إشراك الجمهور في صياغة ومناقشة هذه السياسات وكانت مخرجاتنا قليلة، وهى عبارة عن أوراق سياسات جعلناها في متناول عامة الناس من خلال مقاطع فيديو قصيرة ومحاضراتنا العامة.
وتابعت المهدي: على مر السنين، توسعت مخرجاتنا البحثية المكتوبة والمسموعة والمرئية بشكل كبير، وحظيت باهتمام كبير، وكان أحدث نجاح لدينا هو البودكاست "الحل إيه؟".

وأضافت المهدي أنه وفي عام 2024، تعاوننا مع أكثر من مائة باحث شاب وخبير، لتقديم خيارات عملية متعددة التخصصات يمكنها تحقيق التوازن بين الركيزتين الرئيسيتين للتنمية؛ وهما النمو والعدالة، وقد حصد مشروع حلول للسياسات البديلة أكثر من 220 ألف مشاهدة وتحميل على موقعنا الإلكتروني، ووصل عدد متابعينا على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي المختلفة إلى 250 ألفًا، وبلغ إجمالي عدد مشاهدات مخرجاتنا المرئية المختلفة 18 مليونًا وتفاعل أكثر من 5 ملايين، وهذه هي أعلى أرقام تواصل لمؤسسة بحثية قائمة على البحث ليس فقط في مصر بل وفي المنطقة.

يذكر أن مشروع"حلول للسياسات البديلة" هو مشروع بحثي بالجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة، معني بتقديم مقترحات سياسات عامة للتعامل مع أهم التحديات التي تواجه المجتمع المصري، عن طريق عملية بحثية متعمقة ودقيقة، واستشارات موسعة مع مختلف القطاعات المعنية.

ويقدم المشروع حلولاً مبتكرة ذات رؤية مستقبلية لدعم مجهودات صناع القرار في تقديم سياسات عامة تهدف لتحقيق التنمية العادلة في مجالات التنمية الاقتصادية وإدارة الموارد والإصلاح المؤسسي.

On Monday 20th Alternative Policy Solutions (APS) hosted its annual reception evening, with the attendance of Dr. Ahmad Dallal&mdash;President of The American University in Cairo, Dr. Rabab El Mahdi&mdash;Associate Professor of Political Science at AUC and APS Executive Director, alongside several decision-makers and esteemed ministers, including Ahmed Kojak&mdash;Minister of Finance, Amr Moussa&mdash;former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nabil Fahmy&mdash;former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Tarek Shawki&mdash;former Minister of Education and current Counselor of The American University in Cairo, and Dr. Ashraf El-Araby&mdash;former Minister of Planning, as well as the ambassadors of Canada and the Netherlands.

The reception was also attended by prominent business figures, including Salah Diab and Tarek Tawfik&mdash;President of the American Chamber of Commerce, in addition to notable public figures such as Dr. Mohamed Abou El Ghar, Dr. Nasser Loza, Dr. Ahdaf Soueif, and content creator Ahmed El-Ghandour&mdash;"Al Daheeh."

The reception featured a video presentation highlighting APS&rsquo; main publications, events, and achievements since its launch and up to 2024.&nbsp;&nbsp;
In his speech, Dr. Ahmad Dallal lauded APS&rsquo; evidence-based academic rigor and participatory approach to research in engaging policymakers, scholars, and the communities impacted by its recommendations&mdash;which ensures prioritizing underserved groups. Alternative Policy Solutions values civic engagement, facilitates access to knowledge, and creates spaces for informed discussions that amplify diverse voices, especially those of ordinary citizens, Dallal added. This comprehensive approach is essential for building a sustainable and forward-looking development model for Egypt. Recent research projects conducted by APS have focused on critical issues such as socioeconomic development, sustainability, climate justice, and employment, which are key to Egypt's future. Such focal points align with AUC&rsquo;s strategic priorities and commitment to inclusive development through innovation and collaboration, Dallal noted.

As it stands today, Alternative Policy Solutions was an idea that blossomed nearly eight years ago with a clear and significant goal: to offer alternative policies that bridge the gap between academic knowledge and technical expertise while engaging the public in shaping and discussing these policies, revealed Dr. Rabab El Mahdi. In the beginning, APS&rsquo; output consisted of a few policy papers made accessible to the public through short videos and public lectures, she added.

Over the years, APS&rsquo;s written, audio, and visual research outputs have expanded significantly and garnered widespread attention. The recent success of APS&rsquo; &ldquo;El Hal Eh?&rdquo; podcast highlighted the great thirst for knowledge found in the parched Egyptian public sphere, remarked El Mahdi. In 2024, APS collaborated with over 100 young researchers and experts to present practical, interdisciplinary solutions balancing the two main pillars of development: growth and equity, she added. During this time, APS outputs received over 220,000 views and website downloads, attracted 250,000 followers on various social media platforms, and garnered 18 million views for its diverse visual outputs, with over five million interactions. These figures represent the highest engagement levels for a research-based institution in Egypt and across the region, observed El Mahdi.

Alternative Policy Solutions is a research project at The American University in Cairo focused on providing public policy recommendations to address Egyptian society's most pressing challenges. It employs in-depth and precise research, alongside extensive consultations with various experts and academics.&nbsp;&nbsp;
