Salma Yousry is an architect, urban planner and UN-HABITAT’s Program Officer for the Housing and Urban Upgrading Program. She leads the support provided to the Egyptian government on housing, urban upgrading and innovative water sanitation planning and provision techniques. She obtained her MSc degree on 'Urban Transformations in new cities in Egypt' from Ain Shams University, and DPhil on 'result-based urban management and improved city prosperity' from the same university.

The Egyptian government is adopting a new housing strategy. How to devise an inclusive plan? And what were the flaws of the previous housing projects?
