<p style="text-align: justify;">Chevron, the major US oil company, has discovered a natural gas field in the Narges offshore exploration area off Egypt&rsquo;s eastern Mediterranean shores, opposite Arish city. According to Egypt's Petroleum Minister Tarek El Molla, its reserves might reach 3.5 trillion cubic feet of gas.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The cost of Egypt&rsquo;s poultry products have been steadily reaching record highs; the price of chicken spiked from EGP 20-25 EGP in 2021 to more than 50 EGP in 2022, as the family size 30 egg carton doubled from EGP 40 in 2021 to EGP 85 in 2022. While consumers have been grappling with the price hikes, a recent statement by the National Nutrition Institute on the nutritional benefits of &ldquo;chicken legs&rdquo; has been alarming to the public on the actual magnitude of the problem.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><span style="color: rgb(6, 71, 137);"><strong>Egypt's Central Bank Increases Key Interest Rates by 3%</strong></span></h2>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Central Bank of Egypt raised interest rates by 3% on December 22nd with the goals of &ldquo;containing inflationary pressures&rdquo;. The increase was higher than expected by some observers. According to Egypt&rsquo;s official statistical agency CAPMAS, the annual inflation rate recorded 19.2% in November 2022; the highest since five years.</p>
